With DragWindow II installed, whenever you click on the title bar of a window to drag it to a new position, you will not see the familiar outline of the window follow your cursor, but you will be dragging around the full window instead. This will happen in all but a very few applications. Those very few applications do their own thing as far as window dragging is concerned, and you will simply get the familiar outline when dragging one of their windows.
DragWindow II should work with any Mac, past, present, and future, including, but not limited to, the Plus, Classic, Classic II, LC, LC II, SE, SE/30, II, IIx, IIsi, IIci, IIfx, Quadra 700, Quadra 900, Quadra 950, Portable, PowerBook 100, PowerBook 140, and PowerBook 170. However, it has only been tested on the Mac II, IIsi, IIci, and Quadra 700.
It should work with any version of System Software currently in use, including, but not limited to, 6.0.5 to 6.0.8, 7.0, and 7.0.1, the latter two with or without TuneUp 1.0 to 1.1.1 installed, as well as 7.1. It has been extensively tested and shown to work reliably with System Software versions 6.0.7, 6.0.8, 7.0 with and without TuneUp 1.0, 7.0.1 with and without TuneUp 1.1 and 1.1.1, and 7.1.
So to make a long story short, DragWindow II should work on any ordinary Macintosh running any ordinary version of System Software.
To use DragWindow II if you are running System 7, drop the DragWindow II system extension into the Extensions folder. If you're using System 6.0.8 or earlier, drop the DragWindow II system extension into the System folder. Restart.

I have finally found those despicable creeps at MicroSlush out. Just as I thought, they are doing really unspeakable things to the Toolbox. Consequently, DragWindow used to crash in Excel. No more. Thus, the only incompatibility ever known has now been fixed.
Changes in 2.2:
Before, applications using palettes (aka "floating windows") would not allow DragWindow II to work with their windows. This was due to the fact that to this day, Apple does NOT support palettes in the Toolbox, so these applications HAD to avoid the Toolbox. THIS IS NOT THE MACINTOSH WAY! In my opinion, this is an impossible state of affairs, and it has existed for some years now. Should anyone reading this have any leverage with Apple, I would urge them to bring this up!
Anyway, DragWindow II is now palette-aware. It will try to correctly handle palette windows when bringing them to the foreground or sending them to the back. Also, DragWindow II will now try to take control away from those applications that do not use the Toolbox to drag their windows. Thus, the number of applications that will not allow you to drag their windows "in toto" is now at an absolute minimum.
